New Clients – Start Here

If you’re new to Pilates or new to Ten Pilates Studio, our Introductory Reformer package is a good place to start. In three private Reformer sessions, you will begin to learn the fundamental exercises, how to maneuver around the equipment, and explore how to flow through the repertoire. From here, you will have the option to continue on with private sessions, or, if you and your instructor feel you’re ready, move on to small group classes.

Unsure about working on the equipment? Sign up for one of our 8-week mat class series. This series is designed to help you build strength and flexibility through the foundational Pilates mat work. Mat class is a great introduction to Pilates and can be just as challenging, if not more, than the Reformer work. Learning a mat routine is also a great way to keep up with your Pilates practice outside of the studio.

FAQ

How long will my session be?

Sessions are typically 50 – 60 minutes.

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable to move in. Typically, women wear tights or leggings, and men wear shorts. If you’re wearing shorts, and they are loose-fitting, don’t forget to wear bike shorts or something similar underneath. We love getting to know you, just not “all” of you!

Do I wear shoes while working out?

Because Pilates places a lot of emphasis on strengthening the feet, shoes are not worn during a workout. Most people will go barefoot or wear socks. If you choose to wear socks, grippy socks are preferred.

Should I bring my own water and towel?

The studio is equipped with a free-standing water dispenser, but you are more than welcome to bring your own personal water bottle. (Hydration is highly encouraged during workouts!)
The studio provides small face towels for your convenience, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Is there a place to change my clothes?

Yes. The studio has a restroom and a small changing room in the back.
